About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Supervisor, Central Control, the Central Controller, Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS) is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the autonomous control systems and the management of our autonomous and conventional haulage fleets. This position is responsible for ensuring that both AHS and conventional dispatch systems are operated safely and efficiently, meeting overall shift production goals. It is a site-based role and will operate on a 4x4 schedule comprised of two-day shifts and two-night shifts to allow for continuous operation.

In this role you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Coordinate and collaborate with the Pit Supervisors, mine personnel, equipment operators, mine planning department, technical support, and maintenance personnel
- Direct, control, and manage the AHS to consistently achieve production targets and operational deliverables safely; coordinate the AHS shift activities with supervisory and conventional mining operation teams efficiently
- When required, direct, control and manage conventional fleet management system
- Contribute to the Mine Operations Team on a strategic level including implementation of cost reduction initiatives, and identifying opportunities to improve safety and efficiency in the near and long-term future
- Configure the real-time AHS to monitor and record operation of equipment in the AOZ
- Ensure the integrity of the AHS digital representation of the mine; monitor operating conditions and make changes within the system in response to real-time input from field operations
- Enforce any mining constraints and maximize equipment productivity
- Maintain and improve ability to track and assign material from pit to dump
- Continuously evaluate data accuracy and integrity of the AHS & conventional haulage systems
- Monitor and report on the working status of hardware and software of the AHS and conventional haulage systems
Requirements:
- Valid Shift Boss Certification or willingness to attain
- Minimum four years of experience in open pit mining; previous experience with AHS will be given preference
- Demonstrated abilities in accurate and thorough documentation
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
- Previous supervisory experience is an asset
- Digital proficiency and experience with fleet management systems, particularly dispatch and/or AHS, is an asset
