About the role:
 
Reporting to the Supervisor, Safety and Loss Control, the Coordinator, Safety and Loss Control is responsible for working with contractors and employees of varying backgrounds to ensure safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible execution of work and supporting high potential risk initiatives. With direction from the Line Creek Operations team, the Coordinator, Safety and Loss Control will develop and grow a program that is critical to the success of the operation.

Someone who will find opportunities for growth and improvement and will gain trust and compliance in those initiatives. To achieve this, you must have well-honed communication and interpersonal skills, be able to gauge your audience, and convey a message effectively.

In this role you will:

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Support operational groups with health and safety initiatives
  • Complete health and safety audits and critical control verifications
  • Coach, mentor, and support effective health and safety contract management strategies
  • Develop and present health and safety materials to the crews and management 

Requirements:

  •  High School Diploma, or equivalent 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite® 
  • Working knowledge of applicable HSRC regulations or similar 
  • Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Health and Safety, or OFA Level 3 would be an asset 
  • Relevant experience in mining, processing facilities, maintenance facilities, or operational experience in construction or other heavy industry is an asset 
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
