About the role:
 
Reporting to the Planning Supervisor, Process Maintenance, the Planner, Electrical and Instrumentation is responsible for providing comprehensive maintenance job plans that facilitate the safe and effective execution of work.

In this role you will:

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Determine the scope, strategy, and coordination requirements of plant maintenance work
  • Coordinate between the Maintenance Planning Group, Plant Maintenance Supervisor and staff, and Plant Operations in developing and coordinating maintenance planning
  • Handle work order backlogs for accuracy and details required to accurately advance the work through the planning process
  • Handle maintenance activities including Request for Proposals, contractor and vendor quotes, and Purchase Order Requests
  • Scope all aspects of pre-job requirements, including parts, labour resources, Environment Health Safety and Community (EHSC) work plans, permits, drawings, facilities, support equipment, special equipment and tooling, and instructions
  • Supervise contractors and trade workers completing on site work as required
  • Assist with equipment inspections and preventative maintenance checks as required, and assist with troubleshooting
  • Maintain a maintenance forecast, focusing on key equipment and major work events
  • Commission and decommission equipment and their maintenance programs
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of cost forecasting and budgeting
  • Create detailed work packages, especially for routine work, to further build those assembled packages into our system
  • Setup new facilities and equipment into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including equipment structure, spare parts, maintenance work packages, and preventative maintenance programs
  • Implement maintenance strategies within the CMMS as outlined by the engineering group, including preventative maintenance and condition monitoring
  • Incorporate site annual and five-year plans when setting planning priorities
  • Ensure the collection, tracking, and achievement of planning Key Performance Indicators, such as backlog age and plan accuracy

Requirements:

  • Electrical or Instrumentation journeyperson or technician
  • Previous supervisory, maintenance, planning, or scheduling experience
  • Electrical and instrumentation commissioning
  • Basic digital literacy and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite®, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Familiarity with maintenance processes and software would be an asset
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
