About the role:  
 
Reporting to the Senior Lead, Water Operations, the Supervisor, Water Operations is responsible for leading the safe and efficient execution of work at our water infrastructure operations and ensuring that the water treatment facility aligns with all appropriate regulations, policies, and procedures.

In this role you will:

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies  
  • Ensure operations infrastructure performance, and all operational and regulatory reporting requirements conform to operating standards procedures, and initiate appropriate process adjustments
  • Seek opportunities to drive continuous improvement in the operation
  • Manage the performance of the facility using Key Performance Indicators and other reporting metrics
  • Coordinate onsite maintenance activities, including contractor management
  • Coordinate water usage with the mine and nearby water treatment facilities
  • Experience with SCADA is an asset
  • Communicate expectations, monitor and appraise plant staff
  • Support the training of personnel, including training program implementation
  • Support professional development, reviews, and succession management activities
  • Review computerized operating, and laboratory results and database, to ensure record integrity
  • Lead optimization initiatives in the facility as part of continuous improvement efforts
  • Maintain and update Work Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures, and Training Materials   

Requirements:

  • Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Engineering or Sciences, or other relevant subject area
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in an industrial setting or large municipal facility; experience in a water or wastewater treatment plant would be an asset
  • Minimum five years’ experience leading a team
  • Demonstrated proficiency in applicable computer process software applications, including the Microsoft Office Suite®
  • Level III or IV Water or Wastewater Treatment certificate is an asset
  • Prior laboratory or maintenance experience is considered an asset
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
