About the role:
Reporting to the Manager, Occupational Health and Hygiene, the Lead, Occupational Health will drive the continual improvement, consistency, and implementation of EVR’s Occupational Health Program as part of the ongoing commitment to ‘Home Safe, Everyday’.
To be successful, we are looking for someone with highly effective communication and interpersonal skills who can effectively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders. This role requires a self-motivated individual, capable of working independently and under minimal supervision, who thrives in a fast-paced and high-performance environment. Demonstrated ability to oversee the EVR occupational medical assessment clinic is essential, with a focus on maintaining high standards of care, compliance with the Diagnostic Accreditation Program and operational efficiency.

In this role you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Supervise and lead occupational health resources across the EVR Region
- Supervise and lead an occupational health coordinator
- Provide leadership and direction to mitigate occupational health challenges
- Develop programs to promote health in the workplace, as well as assess and identify areas which require occupational health programs to be implemented
- Provide support and leadership in developing, communicating, and implementing regional policies and programs to identify and address occupational health concerns
- Collaborate with site-based personnel, occupational hygienists, and external service providers to progress EVR’s Occupational Health Program
- Support development and ongoing management of the EVR Mental Health & Wellness Committee
- Perform health and hygiene awareness education for occupational health hazards
- Supervise and provide clinical examination, education, and counselling in support of the Occupational Health Program
- Schedule appointments and coordinate the transfer of information with outside medical service providers
- Produce, maintain, and distribute statistical injury/disease data for administrative, educational, and research purposes
- Maintain and calibrate medical equipment based on the needs of the Occupational Health Program
- Be an active member of the EVR Regional Health and Hygiene Committee
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
- Registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
- Minimum of five years of related work experience in Occupational Health or Public Health Nursing
- Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN(C)) designation
- Knowledge in areas of occupational health such as health assessments, health promotion and wellness, and industrial hygiene; experience in occupational or medical health and hygiene data management
- Familiar with the key aspects of safety leadership and the importance of influencing skills
- Strong digital literacy and experience with Cority and Microsoft Office Suite®, especially Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
