In this role you will be responsible for:
- Manage the entire electrical value chain from the high voltage substation down to the low voltage applications;
- Manage and supervise the electrical maintenance team;
- Ensure safe and reliable operation of electrical systems on submerged arc furnaces;
- Plan and coordinate predictive, preventative and breakdown maintenance;
- Maintain HV and LV systems, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, all protection schemes and furnace control systems;
- Ensure compliance with OHSA, safety standards, and company procedures;
- Coordinate electrical activities during plant shutdowns and projects;
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for electrical failures; and
- Management of the department and related projects at the operation.
About you:
- National Diploma/ Degree in Electrical Engineering;
- GCC (Factories) will be advantageous;
- 5 Years experience in heavy industry or smelting operations;
- Minimum 3 years’ supervisory experience;
- Experience with submerged arc furnace electrical systems in ferrochrome or similar smelting environments; and
- Knowledge of HV distribution, transformers, PLC systems, and furnace control systems.
