Chief Financial Officer

We are seeking a strategic CFO to manage finance in a complex industrial organisation. You combine financial expertise, operational insight, and technological know-how to boost efficiency, enable growth, and facilitate industrial value creation.

We are looking for an experienced and strategically minded Chief Financial Officer with a deep understanding of industrial value creation, production processes, and a Chartered Accountant (Wirtschaftsprüfer) background.

In this position, you will take a central role in shaping and executing the financial strategy of an industrial asset and will be responsible for Finance, Controlling, Procurement and IT. You will work closely with senior leadership to facilitate operational excellence, sustainable growth, and value creation.

With several years of experience in financial management of companies—ideally industrial—you will combine strategic vision with operational insight, connecting financial strategy, operational business, and technological progress to ensure decisions translate into measurable business results.

More specifically, you will be expected to:

Lead financial strategy to ensure growth, profitability, and industrial competitiveness;
Advise CEO & Executive Committee on investments, capital allocation, and corporate development;
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and performance improvement;
Implement cost optimization and productivity initiatives across production and supply chain;
Translate financial data into actionable operational and strategic decisions;
Enhance the processes of reporting, consolidation, and analytics (HFM/Hyperion, ERP, BI tools);
Optimize finance operations using ERP (S/4 HANA), BI (Power BI), and automation techniques;
Ensure compliance with local GAAP, IFRS, tax regulations, internal controls, and risk management;
Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies
Collaborate closely with senior leaders in Procurement and IT to align their strategies with financial goals, providing high-level oversight and guidance.
Support the implementation of technology-driven solutions in finance, procurement, and IT to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Build, mentor, and inspire finance teams during transformation;
Communicate clearly across all levels, guiding the organisation through change.

Do you have what it takes?

Degree in Business Administration / Industrial Engineering / Finance, or similar;
Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA/ACCA) or german “Wirtschaftsprüfer”-Certification;
A robust foundation in audit and financial reporting complemented by analytical and strategic abilities;
Proven experience in similar roles with increasing responsibilities, combining strong financial expertise and technical understanding;
Solid experience with an ERP (S/4 HANA), BI (Power BI) and HFM/Hyperion is a plus;
Decisive, pragmatic and implementation-oriented;
High level of communication skills at all company levels;
Effective guidance during transitional periods;
Upholding ethical standards and serving as a positive example through supportive leadership.

Languages: Proficient in German (verbal and written) and advanced in English, enabling effective communication with stakeholders across international locations.

Location: This position will be based at our asset in Nordenham, Germany.

Ihre Aufgaben

Entwicklung und Umsetzung der Finanzstrategie zur Sicherstellung von Wachstum, Profitabilität und Wettbewerbsfähigkeit
Beratung von CEO und Executive Committee zu Investitionen, Kapitalallokation und Unternehmensentwicklung
Steuerung von Budgetierung, Forecasting, Cash-Management und Performance-Verbesserungen
Einführung von Kostenoptimierungs- und Effizienzinitiativen in Produktion und Lieferkette
Übersetzung finanzieller Daten in konkrete operative und strategische Entscheidungen
Weiterentwicklung von Reporting-, Konsolidierungs- und Analyseprozessen (HFM/Hyperion, ERP, BI-Tools)
Optimierung von Finanzprozessen unter Einsatz von ERP (S/4 HANA), BI (Power BI) und Automatisierungstechnologien
Sicherstellung der Compliance mit lokalem GAAP, IFRS, steuerlichen Anforderungen, internen Kontrollen und Risikomanagement
Zusammenarbeit mit externen Prüfinstanzen, Steuerberatenden und Behörden
Enge Zusammenarbeit mit Beschaffungs- und IT-Bereich zur strategischen Ausrichtung und Effizienzsteigerung
Führung, Förderung und Weiterentwicklung von Finanzteams in Veränderungsphasen
Klare Kommunikation auf allen Ebenen und Begleitung der Organisation durch Veränderungsprozesse

Ihr Profil

Studium der Betriebswirtschaft, Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen, Finanzwesen oder vergleichbare Qualifikation
Qualifikation als Chartered Accountant (ACA/ACCA) oder Wirtschaftsprüfer*in
Fundierte Erfahrung in Prüfung, Finanzberichterstattung und strategischer Finanzführung
Nachweisbare Erfahrung in vergleichbaren Führungsfunktionen in komplexen — idealerweise industriellen — Strukturen
Erfahrung mit ERP-Systemen (S/4 HANA), BI-Tools (Power BI) und HFM/Hyperion von Vorteil
Entscheidungsfreudiger, pragmatischer und umsetzungsorientierter Arbeitsstil
Starke Kommunikations- und Steuerungsfähigkeit auf allen Unternehmensebenen
Werteorientierte und unterstützende Führungshaltung

Sprachen: Sehr gute Deutschkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift sowie fortgeschrittenes Englisch zur effektiven Zusammenarbeit in einem internationalen Umfeld.
