Market Data Contract/Vendor Manager

Chennai, India

You will join Glencore’s global Market Data team supporting the Oil division. The role is responsible for vendor management, contract negotiation and administration, and oversight of the market data portfolio to ensure value, compliance, and cost efficiency.

 

Working with trading, risk, legal, and technology teams, you will support vendor selection, licence management, contract renewals, spend analysis, and optimisation initiatives. Success in the role requires strong commercial acumen, attention to detail, stakeholder management skills, and the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced global environment.

 

Responsibilities:

·       Working closely with the London-based Market Data Procurement team, managing relationships with market data, exchange, benchmark, and analytics vendors across Trading, Risk, Finance, Operations, and Technology teams.

·       Supporting vendor selection, contract renewals, commercial negotiations, and sourcing initiatives to ensure cost-effective service delivery and optimal commercial outcomes.

·       Conducting licence reviews, usage assessments, benchmarking, spend analysis, and cost optimisation initiatives across the market data portfolio.

·       Managing market data agreements, exchange licences, vendor contracts, Statements of Work, and related contractual documentation.

·       Working closely with Legal, Compliance, Procurement, and Information Security teams to ensure contractual, regulatory, and commercial requirements are appropriately maintained.

·       Coordinating vendor onboarding, due diligence, and third-party risk assessment activities.

·       Supporting market data audits, licence compliance reviews, entitlement management, and the tracking of contractual obligations.

·       Gathering and validating business requirements and ensuring licensing solutions align with business needs.

·       Maintaining accurate contract, licence, vendor inventory, and governance records.

·       Driving process automation, governance enhancements, and operational efficiencies across the market data function.

·       Building strong relationships with vendors, business users, and senior management to support effective service delivery and decision-making.

·       Ensuring compliance with internal policies, contractual obligations, exchange requirements, and regulatory standards.

·       Supporting the development of market data governance frameworks, controls, processes, and reporting capabilities.

·       Undertaking other ad hoc duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience

Work experience:         

 

·       3 to 10 years of experience in Market Data, including vendor management, market data administration, entitlement management, inventory analysis, or commercial management

·       Experience of inventory management tools (TRG Optimize, Calero)

·       Strong reporting, data analysis, spend optimisation, and process improvement experience

·       Experience with market data platforms, vendor contracts, usage analytics, and automation tools is highly desirable

·       Familiarity with financial market data providers (e.g., Bloomberg, LSEG, FactSet, S&P Global, ICE, Morningstar) and data governance processes is an advantage
