Our Group Corporate Affairs Department is looking for an Employee Communications Officer in Baar, Switzerland. This role will sit within the Group Corporate Affairs function, working directly with the Head of Employee Communications and the wider team. You will work to enhance employee engagement and advocacy at Glencore through effective communications, culture, and change-management strategies. They will collaborate with various departments to implement communications initiatives that resonate with our diverse global workforce.
The main tasks and responsibilities include:

Implement communications, change communications and culture strategies: Partner with commodity departments and functions, to identify communication needs, develop campaigns, build content and project manage initiatives to enhance employee engagement advocacy, and talent retention.

Promote organisational culture: Deliver campaigns that promote a culture of openness, transparency, collaboration, and effectiveness in line with Glencore’s Values of safety, integrity, accountability, openness, simplicity, and entrepreneurialism.

Event management: develop and project manage virtual and in-person internal events, townhalls and workshops covering the end-to-end process from planning to content development to implementation.

Leverage communications channels: Utilise a range of digital (including AI) and analogue communications channels and platforms to reach diverse employee demographics for both assets and offices.

Campaign execution: Implement innovative campaigns leveraging employee communications to support (digital) transformation, culture enhancement, and organisational change.

Brand consistency: Ensure there is consistency in line with the Glencore brand and design guidelines across all Group employee collateral.

Monitor engagement: Track employee sentiment, engagement and morale using analytical tools in to enhance employee communications campaigns and inspire, motivate and enable positive performance.
Qualifications and experience:

Bachelor's degree or qualification in communications, organisational psychology, business administration, change management or a similar field.

Project leadership experience: Exhibited project leadership and change management capabilities with experience in rolling out initiatives across multiple locations and delivering results in a complex environment.

Event management experience: Experience in project managing internal events, townhalls or workshops.

Strategic mindset: A strategic thinker equipped to develop and implement strategic communications, culture and transformation initiatives that align with organisational goals.

Judgement and decision‑making skills: Strong decision‑making and prioritisation skills, with experience independently resolving challenges and driving delivery in demanding situations.

Subject matter expertise: Experience and skills in corporate communications, culture, change management, employee engagement or internal communications preferably within the mining industry or a related field.

Global experience: Experience in navigating complex, global organisations with diverse business units and geographical locations.

Relationship building skills: Highly developed interpersonal capabilities for building rapport, partnering with senior leaders, and earning buy-in from stakeholders at every level of the organisation.

Digital communications and AI skills: Proficient using diverse digital communications and engagement methodologies, AI and analytics tools, video platforms and intranets.

Communications capabilities: Effective written and verbal communication skills, and adept at tailoring messages and communications initiatives to a wide range of audiences – at both assets and offices.

Language proficiency: Native or fluent English speaker required, with other languages being a benefit.
