We are seeking an experienced Sales Lead – Africa to shape and grow our presence across one of the most dynamic mining regions in the world. This is a highly autonomous role with scope to influence strategy, build relationships, and leave a lasting mark on the African mining industry.
As the regional Sales Lead, you will take ownership of sales performance and market development across Africa. You will define and execute regional sales strategies, lead key customer relationships, and work closely with technical and marketing teams to position our technologies where they deliver the greatest value. You will identify growth opportunities, respond to industry trends, and drive sustainable commercial outcomes.
Reporting to the Sales Director – Africa, Eurasia and Oceania, this role offers the opportunity to combine strategic leadership with hands-on execution in a region with significant growth potential.
The main tasks and responsibilities include.
- Promote our product lines by coordinating with the Glencore’s technical and marketing teams
- Planning pilot rigs activities for clients in the region
- Achieving sales goals for each of Glencore Technology’s proprietary technologies
- Facilitating commercial and technical discussions
- KAM and conference attendance KPIs
- Maintain relationships with local Glencore representatives
- Prepare sales reports and forecasts
- Address client concerns and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for upselling and cross-selling to existing clients.
- Develop partnerships and networks to expand market reach and enhance brand visibility.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Advanced tertiary qualification in Engineering (or closely related discipline)
- Extensive experience in the Mining industry, specifically with mineral processing technologies.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- High proficiency in the English language, both written and spoken.
