An exciting opportunity to be part of the Fello Alloys Marketing & Logistics function in the Commercial Logistics and Marketing team, where you will support the commercial and logistics teams in the administration and execution of Ferro Alloys sales, purchases, and logistics movements for the domestic and export markets, learning the full commercial cycle.

This role is specifically designed for an entrepreneur minded, ambitious go-getter who is ready to learn the complex logistics and trading business from the bottom up. You will be immersed in the hands-on execution of contracts and physical movements, gaining the essential foundation needed for a successful career in commercial commodity marketing and logistics management.

                                                                                                                                       

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • This role is structured for hands on learning and immediate impact, requiring high attention to detail and a proactive attitude.

  • Execute and manage the physical movement process for cargo (road, rail, port operations, and sea freight) to ensure cargo flow is optimised, risks are mitigated, and profitability is maximised.

  • Own the administrative and operational execution of purchase and sales contracts, including accurate and timely invoicing, payment processing, and comprehensive financial reconciliation.

  • Assist in the negotiation and execution of logistics agreements and commercial terms with various third-party service providers and counterparties.

  • Assist in structuring and execute commercial frameworks to ensure competitive pricing and favorable terms.

  • Conduct in-depth market research and analysis on domestic and relevant international markets, monitoring price trends, supply and demand dynamics, and geopolitical factors affecting commodity prices.

  • Develop market reports and analysis to support the wider commercial and trading team, identifying new opportunities and managing inherent risks.

  • Develop and maintain risk management strategies to protect the company from price volatility and market fluctuations.

  • Monitor and assess the risk exposure of the commodities portfolio.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.

  • Stay informed about changes in regulations that may impact commodity Commercial Marketing & Logistics activities.

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with commodity and logistics suppliers, customers, brokers, and industry peers.

  • Collaborate with other Commercial Marketing & Logistics teams and departments to enhance the company's Commercial Marketing & Logistics capabilities.

This role will be based in Melrose Arch office, reporting to the Commercial Managers – FerroAlloys.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification.

  • Chartered Accountant, Chartered Financial Analyst, Actuary, Engineering, Commerce or Business Science.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills that work effectively within team and different audiences.

  • Results-oriented, with a good work ethic.

  • High level of attention to detail, strong administrative skills, and a results-oriented work ethic essential for managing complex contracts and reconciliations. Strong analytical skills, coupled with strong commercial acumen.

  • Takes initiative and invest energy to resolve queries, acts proactively, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work effectively under pressure, and quickly adapt to best international practices.

  • Team player with an independent and flexible work attitude.

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.)

  • Computer Literate.
