Rhovan - Operator (Winch) Slushing

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Participation in safety meetings, completion of risk assessment, and reporting any unsafe conditions.
• Completion of a pre-use check list to ensure that the winch and related lifting equipment are in a safe and good working condition before use and to report any faults to the coordinator
• Attending to general housekeeping to promoting safety at work.
• Operating hoists and winches to lift and pull loads.
• Using power-operated cable equipment on winches, move levers and throttles.
• Start and stopping speeds of hoist or winch drums in response to a variety of signals, including hand, bell, buzzer, telephone, loud-speaker, or whistle signals.
• Using levers and pedals to wind or unwind cable on drums.
• Repositioning of hoists and winches, loading and unloading materials using equipment and machines.
• Attaching or disconnecting cables to loads.
• Moving levers to lock hoists and winches.
• Maintaining and adjusting equipment using hand tools
