The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Maintenance GF – Fixed Plant to join our Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations.

This is a full-time, permanent, staff position.

Range of Pay: $170,000 to $190,000 plus annual variable compensation bonus.

This position is being posted to fill an existing vacancy.

Work location is not accessible by public transportation.

The role requires regular field presence, including site visits both underground and on surface.

Duties and Accountabilities: 

Reporting to the Fixed Maintenance Superintendent, the Maintenance GF is accountable for the safe and effective execution of the maintenance scope of work in accordance with approved budgets, plans, schedules, and recognized standards. This role is responsible for organizing crews, setting priorities, and coordinating all work within the assigned area, including activities performed by Supervisors, Maintenance Personnel, and Contractors.

The Maintenance GF is responsible for assisting the Fixed Maintenance Superintendent in monitoring and adhering to approved annual maintenance budgets, while ensuring maintenance management systems are used effectively to support site operations. This role ensures that maintenance plans and procedures are developed and implemented to continuously improve maintenance effectiveness, working collaboratively with the line organization to execute improvement initiatives.

Due to the scope and level of responsibility, this role has a significant impact on site safety and the financial performance of the operation, with direct accountability for equipment availability and reliability, as well as the effective control of maintenance costs.

Education and Skills

This position requires a strong operational and mechanical background, along with well-developed organizational, motivational, and leadership skills. The successful candidate will bring a minimum of 10 years’ experience in mechanical and electrical operations, safety, and maintenance management, and is preferably a technical school graduate or equivalent.
