The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Process Engineer to join our Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations.

The position will be based in Greater Sudbury (Falconbridge), Ontario.

This is a one (1) year contract staff position.

Range of Pay: $114,000 to $127,000

This position is being posted to fill an existing vacancy. 

Work location is not accessible by public transportation.

Duties and Accountabilities: 

The Process Engineer is responsible to give recommendations around metallurgical control required to meet or exceed monthly and annual forecasts and objectives by providing technical support to the Smelter. This position ensures that process changes are carefully planned and implemented while meeting health, safety and environmental regulations. Results are evaluated to ensure benefits are achieved. In addition to these primary responsibilities, the Process Engineer ensures accurate metallurgical and production accounting for their area. Working with senior staff, the Process Engineer will provide input to develop budgets each year to meet business objectives and identify opportunities for improvement.

Education and Skills

This position requires an engineering degree and approximately 5 years’ experience in metallurgy, chemistry, process, mechanical or environmental engineering and project work. Registered member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario. Must have strong technical and communication skills, with a good knowledge of the drivers of optimal plant performance.
