The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Mine Engineer to join our Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations.

The position will be based in Greater Sudbury (Onaping), Ontario.

This is a full-time, permanent staff position.

Range of Pay: $124,000 to $139,000 including salary and variable compensation.

This position is being posted to fill an existing vacancy.

Work location is not accessible by public transportation.

Duties and Accountabilities: 

Reporting to the Senior Mine Engineer, the Mine Engineer is responsible for the coordination and delivery of mine engineering services in support of safe and efficient operations. The role ensures all engineering activities meet professional standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational goals.

The Mine Engineer works closely with Operations and other stakeholders to support the planning and execution of the mine plan, ensuring alignment with annual targets and the long-term business plan. Building strong working relationships across teams will be critical to ensuring effective collaboration, coordination, and safe execution of work.

Education and Skills

This position requires a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in the Province of Ontario with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in mine engineering and mine design. Experience in mine operations and/or project management is considered an asset.

The successful candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills, along with a solid understanding of mine planning, underground mine design, scheduling, survey, ventilation, ground control, and regulatory standards. The ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to safe, efficient mine operations is essential.
