Minara Resources has an opportunity for a suitably experienced Purchasing Officer to join our established and dedicated team based on site.
Minara Resources is Australia’s largest cobalt producer and a major world producer of nickel. Our Murrin Murrin mine site in WA’s northern Goldfields is an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people. The Role
The successful person will become a member of a friendly and professional team with sitewide operational responsibility for the procurement of inventory and non-inventory goods in accordance with company requirements.
You will be responsible for:
- The procurement of goods in accordance with Minara policies and procedures;
- Maintaining a consistent flow of repairable equipment to the operation in line with our budgets;
- Continual expediting of short and long lead orders to meet ongoing operational requirement:
- Liaising with the internal customers and external suppliers to ensure a high level of services are always maintained;
- Monitoring supplier performance via KPI reporting and conduct regular strategic meetings with key suppliers to monitor and improve ongoing service levels;
- Facilitation of weekly shutdown reports and monthly data for department KPI reports; and
- Management of the Repairable Items Management System.
About You
This role would suit a driven procurement professional with an upbeat attitude looking for a challenging and dynamic site-based role at our Murrin Murrin Operations.
You will have:
- At least 2+ years’ experience in transactional procurement of goods role and have an awareness of commercial and common law;
- Strong negotiation skills with a strong customer service focus;
- Knowledge of mechanical and pressure flow equipment and parts (Advantageous)
- Good computer skills with the ability to use MS Office suite including spread sheet applications;
- Exposure to business integrated supply systems (e.g., Oracle and SAP/Coupa);
- Well-developed planning and organisational skills.
