Senior Electrical Engineer

The Role
The successful candidate will become a member of a hardworking and committed team who can provide strong technical expertise.

You will be responsible for:

• Champion preventative maintenance and ensure statutory, Australian Standards and regulatory compliance
• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations to improve equipment reliability, availability and utilisation
• Implement proactive engineering systems to prevent and predict plant failures
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment, plant and asset performance
• Improve start-up and performance reliability of gas-fired burners and kilns
• Ensure integrity and compliance of hazardous areas, equipment, systems and drawings
• Manage capital projects and engineering changes to improve power generation, distribution and reliability
• Identify cost reduction opportunities across equipment, maintenance and power systems

About You
Reporting directly to the Superintendent this role would suit a detailed and process oriented person. 

You will also have:

• Recognised by Institution of Engineers Australia Bachelor of Engineering, preferably Electrical or Power Engineering.
• WA C Class driver’s licence
• 4–8 years demonstrated experience in operational power generation, HV/LV distribution and protection. 
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding capability, with the ability to analyse multiple data sources and apply structured problem-solving methodologies.

• Experience managing risk, including identifying and controlling material risks associated with electrical assets.

• Experience in chemical or hydrometallurgical processing facilities
• Experience with DCS, PLC, instrumentation and hazardous area electrical equipment preferred
• Strong computer, communication, analytical and organisational skills
