The Role
The successful candidate will become a member of a hardworking and committed team who can provide strong technical leadership and expertise.

You will be responsible for:
  • Provide technical leadership for all Mineral Resource estimation, geological modelling and resource classification activities
  • Maintain the integrity, governance and continuous improvement of geological databases, resource models and estimation methodologies
  • Lead development of long-term geological strategies supporting life-of-mine planning and resource growth
  • Act as technical custodian for Murrin Murrin's geological intellectual property and specialist nickel laterite knowledge
  • Develop capability within the Geology department through structured mentoring, coaching and technical knowledge transfer 
  • Lead the Resource Geology team to deliver high quality geological outputs within agreed schedules
  • Ensure compliance with JORC Code requirements and industry best practice
  • Drive continuous improvement in geological systems, modelling methodologies and software utilisation
  • Provide technical advice to senior leadership regarding Mineral Resources, geological risk and business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain departmental procedures, standards and governance documentation

About You
Reporting directly to the Mine Technical Manager this role would suit a detailed and process-oriented person. 

You will also have:
  • Degree in Geological Sciences (or equivalent), eligible for professional institute membership, with a current WA C Class Driver's Licence
  • Postgraduate qualifications, Exploration Manager statutory qualification and Competent Person status under the JORC Code desirable
  • Extensive Resource Geology experience within large-scale mining operations, including Mineral Resource estimation, classification and reporting
  • Strong expertise in laterite nickel or other complex ore bodies, geostatistics, geological modelling and estimation methodologies
  • Thorough understanding of the JORC Code, mine planning processes and operational geology
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with a proven ability to mentor, develop and lead high-performing technical geology teams
  • Advanced proficiency in geological modelling, geostatistical multivariate estimation, and geological database management.
  • Proven expertise in estimation domain development, geostatistical analysis, variography, estimation strategy, resource modelling, and model reconciliation.
  • Excellent technical communication, report writing and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive continuous improvement
