Minara Resources has an opportunity for an experienced Coordinator to join our established and dedicated Central Works team.

Our Murrin Murrin site in WA’s northern Goldfields is an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people. The Role

The Coordinator of Central Works manages and directs the activities of the boilermakers, coded welders and pipefitters as well as Central Works contractors in order to meet production requirements.

You will be responsible for:

  • Ensure the smooth operation of Central Works through scheduled plans.
  • Ensure all planned maintenance is supported by Central Works.
  • Ensure the integration of available workshop space sitewide.
  • Monitor contractor performance.
  • Monitor the systems and business processes applicable to the role, identify and prioritise improvement opportunities and formulate alternatives and improvements to systems and methods.
  • Assist the Line Manager with implementation of change management initiatives and other business improvement projects.
  • Develop continuous improvement targets for the function and drive and measure achievement of these targets.
  • Ensure the development and maintenance of up-to-date job procedures for all tasks performed within the team.
  • Cost management of budgets and capital spending.
  • Coordinate the activities of the Central Workshop, sub-contractor groups and plant areas to minimise plant disruptions.
  • Prioritise maintenance work undertaken by Central Works to minimise impact on operations.
  • Liaise daily with Maintenance Supervisors and Superintendents, Planning and Central Works Supervisors to ensure all parties are aware of scheduled work and priorities. 


About You

The role would suit an experienced maintenance professional with a proven track record in leadership and supervision.

 
You will also have:

  • Trade qualifications in welding or metal fabrication
  • Demonstrated success as an effective leader in a customer focused work environment
  • Previous Experience in managing costs
  • A demonstrated application of continuous improvement ideas
  • Good computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems, word processing and spreadsheet applications
  • A current Western Australian C-Class manual drivers’ licence.
