Murrin Murrin Operations has an opportunity for a Shutdown Supervisor to join our established and dedicated shutdown team.

Murrin Murrin Operations is Australia’s largest cobalt producer and a major world producer of nickel. Our Murrin Murrin site in WA’s northern Goldfields is an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people. The Role

The role is a permanent position with Murrin Murrin Operations that will assist the Maintenance Superintendent (Ore Leach) with the preparation and safe execution of shutdown activities, prior to shutdown execution, to ensure they are completed to Murrin Murrin Operations required standard, timing, and budget parameters.

You will be responsible for:
  • Assisting with shutdown preparation prior to execution
  • Allocating day-to-day work priorities during shutdown preparation to a range of disciplines, ensuring work is conducted safely
  • Reporting on shutdown preparation activity completion against set targets
  • Allocating manpower for daily tasks to ensure safe and efficient shutdown execution when required
  • Communicating operational information to and from the shutdown leadership team, with various preparation teams
  • Assist with the development and management of documentation used during the preparation and execution of shutdowns
  • Ensuring suitability and availability of equipment spares through close liaison with area maintenance planners and schedulers
  • Identifying competence requirements for work tasks
  • Measuring Team performance and implement first level discipline while motivating employees to perform

About You

This role would suit an adaptable problem solver with good technical knowledge, leadership skills, and effective communication skills with a strong focus on safety and efficiency, to manage the entire shutdown process from planning to execution.

You will also have:
  • An Australian Recognised Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or similar
  • A Western Australian C-Class manual drivers’ licence
  • Relevant experience working in maintenance plant shutdowns of fixed plant machinery
  • Demonstrated success as an effective leader in a customer focused environment
  • Previous experience in managing costs and budgeting
  • Good computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems, spreadsheet, word processing and presentation applications
  • A high level of experience with using computerised maintenance management system (CMMS), with a knowledge of Oracle desirable
