Minara Resources has a fabulous opportunity for a seasoned Human Resources Manager to join our established and dedicated team.
Minara Resources is Australia’s largest cobalt producer and a major world producer of nickel. Our Murrin Murrin site in WA’s northern Goldfields is an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people. The Role
We are seeking an experienced Manager – Human Resources to provide strategic and operational leadership across both the Human Resources and Village functions at Murrin Murrin.
Reporting to the General Manager, this critical leadership role is accountable for the delivery of high-quality HR services and safe, efficient, and compliant village operations that support our FIFO workforce. The role leads multidisciplinary teams and oversees a significant contractor footprint, ensuring strong safety, governance, performance, and service outcomes.
You will be responsible for:
- Provide leadership across the HR function, ensuring delivery of end-to-end HR services including ER/IR, remuneration, workforce planning, talent management, recruitment and onboarding.
- Partner with senior operational leaders to provide pragmatic, risk-aware advice aligned with business objectives.
- Lead, develop and coach HR and Village teams, driving capability, accountability and performance.
- Oversee enterprise agreement interpretation and bargaining processes, ensuring compliant and consistent application.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, WHS obligations and psychosocial risk management requirements.
- Drive effective use of HR systems, workforce data and analytics to support planning, decision-making and reporting.
- Lead the safe, efficient and compliant delivery of accommodation, catering, cleaning, transport, leisure facilities and aerodrome operations.
- Provide visible leadership, ensuring strong safety performance, service quality and contractual compliance.
- Manage HR and Village OPEX and CAPEX budgets, ensuring strong financial governance and cost-effective service delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement across people, systems, processes and service delivery in line with company standards.
About You
You are a seasoned people and operations leader with experience in remote or site based environments, ideally within mining or heavy industry. You bring strong commercial acumen, sound judgement, and the ability to lead diverse teams in a complex operational setting. You will also have:
- Recognised tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management or related discipline.
- Significant experience leading, mentoring and developing teams in the mining or resources sector.
- Experience in remote village operations, facilities management and aerodrome operations will be highly regarded.
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation, industrial relations, WHS and psychosocial risk management.
- Proven experience in enterprise agreement bargaining, having successfully undertaken this process.
- Extensive experience with remuneration and benefits, including salary survey management, benchmarking tools, and a deep understanding of market trends.
- The ability to think strategically and translate business needs into HR solutions.
- The aptitude to generate and analyse data and communicate trends, emerging issues, and opportunities.
- Previous experience in system implementation i.e., SuccessFactors.
- Advanced computer skills in Excel and PowerPoint, with proficiency in Power BI.
- WA ‘C’ class driver's licence.
