The Role

The successful person will become a member of a hardworking and committed team who will be responsible for mentoring and providing peer review for other Engineers within the Department, while maintaining mechanical engineering support at Murrin Murrin Operations.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Leading a multidisciplinary engineering team.
  • Provide training and mentor graduate and junior engineers in the team.
  • Utilising high level engineering expertise including FEA modelling in the progression and delivery to agreed schedule of all assigned projects and investigations;
  • Align own and team activities with business priorities and objectives.
  • Ensure work output complies with engineering standards and regulatory requirements;
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with asset owners in the identification, prevention and troubleshooting of plant and process problems to ensure maximum availability;
  • Deputise for the Superintendent of assets and integrity as required;
  • Prioritise day to day work and shutdown activities and provide peer review for other Engineers in the Team;
  • Identifying continuous improvement opportunities and threats to the ongoing effective performance of site plant and equipment systems.

About You

This role would suit a mechanical engineer with exposure to leadership roles that is familiar with Australian Standards and design pressure equipment, piping and pipe support systems.

You will also need to have:

  • A Mechanical Engineering Degree recognised by Engineers Australia;
  • An Australian Manual Drivers Licence;
  • Appreciation of the Business context for engineering and maintenance decisions;
  • An ability to communicate effectively across all levels with Senior Management, Legal Entities and external stakeholders;
  • Ability to persuade and influence through data rational critical thinking; and
  • A proven track record of accomplishment as a lead maintenance engineer on industrial facilities and be capable of supervising and directing a team of engineers, designers and support personnel.
