Minara Resources has an opportunity for a supervisor to join our established and dedicated team in the heavy earthmoving workshop.

The Role

The successful person will become a member of a hardworking and committed team in a professional and well managed heavy earthmoving workshop.

You will be responsible for:
  • Providing direct supervision of contractors and sub-contractors working within the area of responsibility
  • Providing input for area of responsibility, during preparation of annual departmental budget 
  • Ensuring all maintenance targets are achieved and the equipment is maintained in a safe condition
  • Prioritising on-the-job safety protocols and compliance requirements
  • Promoting a unified "team" atmosphere within maintenance personnel to align with Mining Department objectives
  • Optimising resource management to minimise costs effectively
  • Contributing maintenance insights for equipment selection to enhance mining fleet performance
  • Encouraging innovation and employee engagement to drive continuous improvement in work practices
  • Ensuring strict adherence to quality control procedures in line with equipment manufacturer recommendations
  • Monitoring work tasks closely and helping resolve any associated issues promptly
  • Supporting the setup and review of planned daily tasks for maintenance activities
  • Conducting toolbox talks and team safety meetings to promote a safety-conscious work environment

About You

This role would suit a mechanically proficient leader with extensive open pit heavy earthmoving equipment experience. 

You will also have:
  • Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or trade qualification in any other mechanical trade coupled with mobile plant mechanical maintenance experience
  • Completed WHS statutory supervisor units and meet applicable WA legislation statutory requirements, examinations and registrations
  • Evidence of successfully passing applicable examination for statutory supervisors (Schedule 26)
  • WA ‘C’ ‘HR’ class drivers’ licence
  • Cert IV in Front line management (preferred)
  • High Risk Work Forklift licence(preferred)
  • Demonstrable Experience as a Leading Hand, Supervisor or similar in heavy earthmoving
  • Demonstrable years’ experience in mining of similar size and scale 
  • Experience on Caterpillar and Hitachi heavy equipment (preferred)
  • Strong leadership and motivational experience  
  • Experience in safety, quality, environmental and maintenance management systems
  • Demonstrated application of continuous improvement ideas
  • Good computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems, word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet applications
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels
  • Confident communicator with senior management, legal entities, and external stakeholders
  • A high-level of understanding all relevant legislation relevant to role in the mining industry in Western Australia.
