Minara Resources has an opportunity for a Project Controls Lead to join our established and dedicated team.
Minara Resources is Australia’s largest cobalt producer and a major world producer of nickel. Our Murrin Murrin site in WA’s northern Goldfields is an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people. The Role
The successful candidate will become a member of a hardworking and committed team who can provide will support delivery of Murrin Murrin Operation’s growth and expansion portfolio through management cost estimation, planning, project control, change management and risk management functions.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading the development of cost and schedule and project controls reporting frameworks
- Establishing WBS/CBS structures, budgets, and baseline schedules in collaboration with study/project team
- Drive monthly reporting cycles including earned value analysis, forecasts, and performance dashboards
- Define project planning, estimation, risk management and control requirements in external work scopes.
- Manage third party estimate and schedule development
- Co-ordinating, developing and managing integrated schedules and estimates including basis of estimate and basis of schedule documents
- Analyse cost and schedule variance against plan and budget and communicate reasons for variance.
- Developing and implementing department project control change management processes
- Identify potential scheduling and costs risks, analyse impacts and recommend corrective actions and mitigation plans
- Maintaining project risk registers and proactively managing exposure
About You
Reporting directly to the Manager of Studies this role would suit a detailed and process oriented person.
You will also have:
- Relevant qualifications in accounting, engineering, construction engineering, project controls or quantity surveying
- 5+ year’s experience as Controls Manager on large mining/infrastructure projects
- Strong grasp of project stage gate processes and decision quality
- Experience working with EPCM or EPC Companies
- A strong analytical mind with the ability to problem solve, identify trends and think logically;
- Proactive in identifying and addressing risks and issues;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; and
- High degree of attention to detail.
