The role in a nutshell:

In this role, you act as a key partner in strengthening our safety and risk culture. You will work closely with HSEC teams to update and standardise risk?management practices. Whether you’re ensuring risk reviews are completed, supporting compliance activities, or guiding teams in best practices, your focus is always on helping people stay safe and make informed decisions.


More specifically, you will be expected to:

  • Co-ordinate all HSEC incident data for Legacy Assets, including timely updates and management of required GSD data.
  • Compile and distribute HSEC reports
  • Establish and maintain a robust document control system for Legacy Assets to ensure auditability.
  • Verify legislative and permitting requirements
  • Verify HSEC commitments and obligations register are maintained at a site level
  • Coordinate Health/Medical surveillance requirements in the LA group
  • Coordinate site induction and delivery of site safety refresher training as required
  • Supports the co-ordination of emergency response planning, mine rescue drills, and crisis preparedness activities.
  • Assists the site in the administration required for Cognibox, Work hub, Safety Line, Site Docs, Spot, and Risk Manager systems.
  • Supports LA sites with the development of SOPs to standardise approaches across the LA portfolio, incorporating lessons learnt.
  • Support sites in maintaining up-to-date chemical registers and ensuring relevant Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are accessible.
  • Train in the use of the incident management system.

 

Do you have what it takes?

  • Minimum 5 years’ HSEC or operations experience.
  • Technical diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Experience coordinating incident data and managing GSD updates.
  • Strong document?control skills to ensure auditability.
  • Knowledge of legislative/permitting and site?level HSEC compliance.
  • Experience supporting emergency response, mine rescue drills and safety training/inductions.
  • Familiarity with HSEC systems (e.g., Cognibox, Work Hub, Safety Line, Site Docs, Spot, Risk Manager) or ability to learn quickly. Very comfortable with technology / tech?savvy.
  • Experience maintaining chemical registers and ensuring SDS accessibility.
  • Detail?oriented, highly organised, and an excellent communicator with strong stakeholder management skills

 

Travel: Minimal travel required (typically <5% of the time).

Language: Advanced proficiency in English (verbal and written) is mandatory.  The knowledge of French is beneficial.

Location: Corporate office in Toronto 5 days a week.

The expected base salary for this position is 75 000$ to 110 000$, based on competencies, skills, and qualifications and aligned with internal equity. The incumbent will also be eligible to participate in a variable compensation plan (bonus) (note: payment of variable compensation is subject to the terms and conditions of the variable compensation plan and is not guaranteed).
