The role in a nutshell:
In this role you act as the Project Cost Controller to project teams, turning complex project data into concise insights that enable confident decision?making. You collaborate with project and finance leads to strengthen governance, improve forecasting and enhance reporting transparency. With a hands?on, site?aware approach, you help drive better project outcomes and continuous improvement.
More specifically, you will be expected to:
- Prepare financial reporting, including monthly project cost consolidation, variance analysis, and accompanying commentary, in close collaboration with Project Managers.
- Support Project Managers with budgeting and forecasting activities throughout the project lifecycle, informing financial reporting and accurate expenditure requests.
- Assist the Senior Project Controller in delivering project controls reports in accordance with CMF and Glencore requirements.
- Perform additional tasks and assignments as requested by the Senior Project Controller or Financial Controller.
Do you have what it takes?
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Auditing, Engineering, Technology, Science, Project Management, Business, or a related field.
- PMP certification or training is an asset
- 4–6 years' relevant project controls and/or financial analysis experience on large mining or industrial projects
- Financial & analytical expertise: budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, variance analysis, and precise interpretation of financial data
- Proficient with Excel, ERP systems, and reporting platforms
- Project & systems competence: strong understanding of project lifecycles, cost drivers, schedules, and change impacts; skilled with project/financial systems and reporting/process optimisation
- Communication & stakeholder management: able to present cost insights and risks clearly, collaborate effectively, stay organised, and adhere to controls and deadlines
Travel: No travel is required for this role
Language: Advanced proficiency in English (verbal and written) is mandatory.
Location: Corporate office in Toronto 5 days a week
