Reporting to the Asset Support Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our conveyor systems across various environments, including smelters, concentrators, crushing plants, and underground facilities. This position emphasizes a strong commitment to safety and offers a family-friendly residential lifestyle with a 4/4/4/2 roster.
In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for assessing the condition of conveyor belts and their components, ensuring top-notch performance and reliability. Your expertise in splicing fabric belts, lagging conveyor drums, and occasionally rubber lining pipes and chutes will be key to maintaining our high standards of workmanship.
To succeed in this position, you should bring previous experience from the heavy industry, along with a solid understanding of material handling for conveyors and related components, particularly in belt splicing. Your ability to troubleshoot operational issues, rig, and operate winches and winders will set you apart. Familiarity with solvents, adhesives, and mechanical fasteners is preferred, and possessing a Level 1, 2, or 3 Belt Splicer trade certificate, as well as an HR truck license and forklift ticket, would be advantageous.
A valid manual driver’s license, a flexible attitude, and a strong work ethic are essential for this role. You’ll need excellent time management skills to achieve results within specified time frames, alongside a strong customer service orientation and meticulous attention to detail. Whether working in a team environment or independently, your ability to deliver high-quality results will contribute significantly to our operations.
