The role in a nutshell

We are seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join the tax team of a large, complex, global public company with diverse operations and significant growth plans. This role offers a wide range of responsibilities and exposure to several tax functions within an active, evolving workplace.

In this role, you will work closely with experienced tax leaders and mentors while benefiting from a competitive total compensation package, a collaborative culture, and ample opportunities for professional growth and career development.

More specifically, you will be expected to:

  • Prepare Canadian corporate income tax returns
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly tax provision calculations
  • Prepare Ontario and Quebec mining tax returns
  • Provide tax advisory support on indirect and provincial tax matters
  • Support tax audits and liaise with tax authorities
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and ensure ongoing compliance
  • Partner with finance teams to provide proactive tax guidance
  • Contribute to the enhancement of tax systems, processes, and governance
  • Build effective, collaborative relationships with internal finance stakeholders

Do you have what it takes?

  • CPA designation (or international equivalent)
  • 5–7+ years of progressive taxation experience, including extensive exposure to tax compliance and tax provision (tax effect accounting)
  • Training in a multinational public accounting firm
  • Experience within a global, publicly traded company environment (asset)
  • Experience with SAP and tax preparation software (asset)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain a high level of attention to detail
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with an interest in continuous improvement
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and geographies
  • Experience in the natural resources or mining sector (asset)

Travel: Minimal travel may be required for this position.

Language: Advanced proficiency in English (verbal and written) is mandatory. The knowledge of French is beneficial.

Location: Corporate office in Toronto 5 days a week.

The expected base salary for this position is $110,000 to $145,000, based on competencies, skills, and qualifications and aligned with internal equity. The incumbent will also be eligible to participate in a variable compensation plan (bonus) (note: payment of variable compensation is subject to the terms and conditions of the variable compensation plan and is not guaranteed).
