Job Description

Reporting to the Mining Manager, you will be responsible for providing effective production and safety leadership to the production team.

 

About the Role

  • Provide strong and effective leadership and coaching to a team of supervisors to influence and focus the direction of the Blasting and Pit Services teams.
  • Oversee, plan and implement tasks to optimise production results in the areas of health, safety, environment and community.
  • Support operational and divisional budget in terms of managing resources effectively including monitoring and controlling costs
  • Assist in the development and continuous improvement of standards, procedures and processes.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and communicate risks associated with health, safety and environmental impacts.

Roster and Location

  • Monday to Friday dayshift roster
  • Based on site at HVO

About You

  • Demonstrated experience leading large operational teams in an open cut environment.
  • Demonstrated Experience in shot firing activities and water management
  • Experience supporting and developing mining supervisors for the purpose of maximising mine productivity, cultural alignment and employee growth and development.
  • Hold a current Open Cut Examiners ticket
  • Hold a current Blasting explosives user licence (BEUL)
  • High level of interpersonal communication and negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively with personnel at all levels across multiple departments as well as engaging and influencing key external stakeholders.
