At Oaky we know it’s our people that make it all possible. Our culture promotes teamwork and rewards dedicated people with a can-do spirit, who take responsibility, and who have the drive to be leaders in their field.  We expect a lot, but we give a lot in return. We recognise and reward exceptional work.

Reporting to the Water Infrastructure Superintendent, an exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Water Infrastructure Coordinator to join the Oaky Creek Surface Team.

The Role:

As the Water Infrastructure Coordinator, you will manage the day-to-day performance, reliability and maintenance of the site’s fixed water infrastructure and pumping systems, ensure timely processing and verification of operational data, and communicate analysis and actions to stakeholders so business targets and compliance obligations are met. You will work closely with other Coordinators and site teams to support product quality and reclamation, apply appropriate water destruction methods where required (evaporative fans, reverse osmosis), coordinate maintenance and contractors, and embed a proactive safety-first approach in all activities.

About you:

At Oaky Creek Coal, we hire for attitude and train for skill. We look for people who are adaptable, self-driven and think critically. As the successful Water Infrastructure Coordinator, you will have:

  • Trade qualification or equivalent practical experience relevant to water management and infrastructure
  • High level of practical, field‑based knowledge of fixed water infrastructure and site water management (pumps, pipelines, ponds/dams and transfer systems)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience operating or coordinating water infrastructure in mining, utilities or industrial environments (coal experience preferred)
  • Familiarity with water destruction methods such as evaporative fans and reverse osmosis processes
  • Moderate computer skills with strong competence in Word and Excel for reporting and data processing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present analysis and operational recommendations to stakeholders
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and operate in ambiguous environments
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and the ability to incorporate safety into daily tasks and planning
  • Personal integrity and ethical conduct; respect for diversity and site values

Just as importantly, we’ve worked hard to make sure you feel valued. In return, here are just some of the benefits we offer:

  • Highly competitive mining salary plus annual short-term performance bonus
  • 5 weeks’ annual leave per year
  • Opportunity to work a 9-day fortnight.
  • Access to Coal Mining Industry Long Service Leave - one of the most generous long service leave schemes of any industry in the country
  • Generously subsidised housing, or permanently allocated camp accommodation
  • Relocation assistance
  • Opportunities to salary sacrifice flights and/or enter into a novated lease vehicle arrangement
  • Private Health or Salary Continuance reimbursement up to $3,500
  • Active Lifestyle reimbursement for local amenities
  • Years of service awards and Christmas gifts
  • Town events and yearly Christmas parties
  • Reimbursement for prescription safety glasses up to $600
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP), available to the whole family
  • Provision for education assistance if you are wanting to further your studies down the track

This is a Monday to Friday or 9-day fortnight rostered position.

The local town of Tieri offers an exceptional standard of living and a vast array of facilities for adults and children. Relocation assistance will be provided to the successful candidate as well as competitive remuneration and benefits, subsidised housing and performance bonus incentives (www.tieri.com.au).

As per company policy, internal applicants should discuss their interest in these positions with their manager prior to submitting an application.
