Mt Owen/Glendell Operations (MGO) is an open cut mining operation which utilises truck and excavator mining methods to produce thermal and semi-soft coking coal, which is predominantly exported for domestic power generation and use in steel production. We are located within the Hunter Coalfields at Hebden in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales.

We are seeking a motivated Equipment Inspector (Mechanical Pre-Service Tradesperson) to join our team at MGO. As a member of our Maintenance Planning Team, you will work a Monday to Friday roster reporting to the Maintenance Planning Superintendent where you will be directly involved in the effective maintenance planning of modern, heavy earth moving plant and equipment.

Safety focused with a positive attitude toward detailed inspections and completing quality work, you will be focused on achieving availability and reliability targets and driving maintenance performance.

The essential requirements for success in this role:

  • Relevant Mechanical Trade qualification or equivalent.

  • Heavy mobile equipment maintenance experience including Caterpillar, Liebherr and/or Hitachi.

  • Experience and understanding of working under safety rules, policies and procedures.  

  • Demonstrated exposure to computerised maintenance management systems and knowledge of SAP.

  • A team player that’s able work well in a dynamic environment.

  • Solid communication skills.

It is desirable that you have:

  • Open Cut Coal Mining experience.

  • Open Cut Coal Mining LV pit licence and experience.
