About the Role

Newlands Closure has a site-based opportunity for an experienced hands-on Rehabilitation Manager to join the team in progressing Australia’s largest coal rehabilitation project. Operating as an extensive Open Cut Mine until February 2023, the site has now moved to a rehabilitation and closure phase with the goal of converting the previously mined areas to cattle pastures by 2029 and achieve relinquishment. With many coal mines in Queensland set to close in the next 20 years, your career in rehabilitation will continue to flourish, positioning you as a leader in mine rehabilitation and closure.

We are seeking a highly capable Rehabilitation Manager to lead closure and rehabilitation activities across our site. This is a senior leadership role responsible for delivering safe, compliant, and cost-effective rehabilitation outcomes while driving team performance and continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping the long-term sustainability of the site, ensuring environmental and regulatory obligations are met while aligning with closure objectives and long-term landform outcomes.
