About the Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Supervising Shotfirer

 to join our dynamic and successful team.  As a valued member of the Production team and reporting directly to the Drill and Blast supervisor, you will be responsible for:

• Ensuring the safety of your team, production and productivity targets are achieved, and mining schedules are followed

• Providing visible leadership, advice and support in relevant function or process area;

• Assist in the development of standards, procedures and processes in relevant functional or process areas; manage the identification and implementation of improvements.

• Manage people within the area of responsibility using available tools and skills to directly or indirectly influence the focus and direction provided to employees;

• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with external stakeholders.

About you 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Hold a QLD Shotfirer Licence (required)

• QLD Mining Supervisor S123 Competency

• Possess strong leadership capabilities

• Have a proactive attitude to safety and a strong work ethic

• Demonstrate flexibility and excellent teamwork in working with others in the business

• Exhibit strong communication skills

• Have strong drive to learn and grow in the role

• Certificate IV or Diploma in Frontline Management

• RIIRIS402 Carry out the risk management processes (previously MNCG1002A)

• RIIRIS301, Apply Risk Management Processes, GRM 01

• RIIWHS301, GCAA – GII, Conduct Safety & Health Investigations

• RIICOM301, GCOM, Communicate Information
