What are we looking for?

We are seeking highly motivated Health & Injury Management Coordinator to join our winning team. The position will be permanent full time, working a Monday to Friday roster. We offer an attractive remuneration package including performance-based bonuses. Relocation assistance may be available for eligible candidates.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Provide advice to managers, supervisors and the workforce on health, hygiene, and injury management.

  • Engage with injured workers and key stakeholders in relation to rehabilitation and fitness for work including safe return from non-work related illness and injury.

  • Managing and maintaining the health related elements of the management system.

  • Ensuring corporate and regulatory reporting requirements for injured workers are met at all levels.

  • Develop and document the Mangoola Health and Wellbeing Program including physical and mental health programs, and seasonal awareness and intervention programs.

  • Developing and implementing site hygiene monitoring and fitness for work programs.

  • Manage the workers compensation and rehabilitation processes including early intervention programs, non-work-related support programs, claims reviews, high-risk case reviews.

  • Facilitate and manage sites medical requirements including periodic health assessments and monitoring.

  • Maintaining systems to manage the appropriate monitoring of employee exposure to industrial hazards.

  • Drive improvement projects in area of health and hygiene on site.

About you:

  • You will have a thorough understanding of NSW statutory obligations relevant to Workplace Health and Safety.

  • You will have a degree in an Allied Health Profession with demonstrated experience in a similar role.

  • You will have experience in the coal mining industry, or other heavy industry.

  • You will have previous experience with Workers Compensation cases.

  • Return to work accreditation with SIRA.

  • Basic principles of occupational hygiene and drug and alcohol testing desirable.

  • You have a high regard for your personal safety and the safety of your teammates.

  • You have the ability to follow a plan and the resilience to adapt to a constantly changing environment.

  • You demonstrate a positive attitude, reliability, and commitment to working proactively.

  • You have highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

  • You are a team player with a high level of safety awareness, an attitude for outstanding performance, and a willingness to contribute to a winning team.
