Reporting to the Coal Handling Process Plant (CHPP) Group Manager, the Maintenance Engineer will be a highly detail-oriented individual with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. You will provide support across the CHPP Australian Coal group to drive high standards of maintenance and improved plant reliability. The role focuses on supporting site maintenance teams to achieve operational KPIs, enhance equipment performance, and uphold safe work practices. Key responsibilities include facilitating continuous improvement initiatives, providing technical guidance, and fostering strong, positive team cultures across all sites. You will assist in aligning maintenance practices with corporate strategies, driving improved consistency, efficiency, and sustainable reliability outcomes across the CHPP network.

In this role you will:

  • Provide technical support and governance through regular site visits, plant inspections, performance reviews, and implementation of improvement actions.

  • Support major and capital projects by providing design review, risk assessment, commissioning support, and engineering assessment.

  • Provide governance and support for maintenance planning and execution to achieve key business results (including health, safety, environment and community impacts of work).

  • Provide visible leadership, advice and support to all sites.

  • Support operations through budget development and review to effectively manage resources, including monitoring and controlling costs.

  • Assist in the development of standards, procedures, and processes at site and corporate levels.

  • Manage people within area of responsibility using available tools and skills to directly or indirectly influence the focus and direction provided to employees.

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Provide support initiating, reviewing and managing key contracts to improve performance in the CHPP maintenance area.

This role will be based in the Hunter Valley, NSW with travel to sites as required.
