1x MECHANICAL TRADE FIXED PLANT APPRENTICESHIP – at Ulan Surface Operations.

Glencore, one of the world’s largest natural resource companies, has a trade apprenticeship on offer across the Australian Coal Operations, to commence in January 2026. 

Learn to maintain, repair, and overhaul fixed plant machinery and conveyor systems used in mining operations. Develop the skills to ensure reliable plant performance, minimise downtime, and uphold the highest safety standards.


The application will prompt you to select your preferred state location and apprenticeship however please note this is a Mechanical apprenticeship and will be based in Mudgee, NSW.

Our four-year Apprenticeship Program will allow you to develop your skills, experience, knowledge, and provide you with challenges and opportunities throughout the 4 years of training. With onsite, offsite and TAFE training, our Apprenticeship Training Program offers a great mix. 

If you are an enthusiastic and motivated person with a commitment to achieve, coupled with a focus on safety, ability to work in teams and good communication skills, we would like to hear from you! 

Candidates must have completed at least Year 10 by the end of 2025 to be considered.

Mature age candidates are also encouraged to apply.

How do you apply? 

Complete the online application form specifying your Mechanical trade preference in Mudgee, NSW.

You will be asked to upload your cover letter, resume and copies of the last two (2) years of School reports, TAFE or University results or evidence of work-related training (for mature age candidates).  Please note that your school reports/work related training will need to be scanned and uploaded as one file. 

You will be informed of your progress throughout the selection process.
