Clermont Open Cut is currently seeking an experienced Rehabilitation and Closure Supervisor to join our site-based team. Located on the western edge of the Bowen Basin, Clermont Open Cut is a high performing truck & shovel operation that produces 12 million tonnes of coal per annum. Clermont Open Cut Operation is a safe, dynamic and inclusive workplace focused on delivering high performance outcomes. Reporting to the Project Superintendent – Mine Closure & Rehabilitation, this role will offer variety and opportunity to the right individual.

In this role key responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising and coordinating activities associated with rehabilitation and closure works

  • Management of contractors including mobilisation and onboarding coordination, daily site contact, procurement and invoice review and processing

  • Ensuring the health and safety of personnel and equipment involved in rehabilitation and closure works

  • Maintaining and implementing compliance with SHMS and regulatory requirements

  • Ensuring permits are prepared and remain compliant with procedures, and confirming that hazards and controls are clearly defined, signed off by authorised personnel and implemented

  • Providing leadership and direction through effective engagement and communication

  • Contributing to planning and implementation of Annual Rehabilitation and Closure Plans and Aftercare (Rehabilitation Maintenance) planning, scoping and execution

Requirements for the role include:

  • Demonstrated supervisory experience in Open Cut mining and/or civil industries, holding the following competencies: RIICOM301 Communicate Information RIIRIS301; Apply Risk Management Processes; RIIWHS301 Conduct Safety and Health Investigations

  • Ability to develop strong relationships with various internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to effectively engage with multiple people across departments

  • Experience in supervising bulk earthworks, rehabilitation, civil or drainage works

  • Experience in contractor management and rehabilitation in the Open Cut mining and/or civil industries (highly regarded)

  • Experience with Sap (i.e. purchasing) (highly regarded)

  • Experience with safety/compliance software (e.g. CMO) (highly regarded)

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite - Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Proactive attitude to safety, a strong work ethic, and leadership capabilities

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • QLD Drivers Licence

This role requires a safety conscious candidate prepared to challenge the norm, drive continuous improvement and who can demonstrate experience in implementing best practise using a hands-on approach.
