The Role
An opportunity exists for experienced Operational Technology Engineer, who is self-motivated and committed to developing a culture motivated by safety, quality and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Statutory Electrical Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for;
Operational Technology Network Design and Management
- Coordinating multiple OT maintenance and project tasks across the complex.
- Ensuring reliability and availability KPI’s are achieved and delivery of optimum equipment performance in all areas of operations.
- Maintenance of OT documentation in line with statutory requirements and site standards.
- Development and implementation of actions for areas with poor technical performance.
- Determining network layout in compliance with GCAA OT Documentation.
- Determining required number and size of network segments and allocating VLAN IDs.
- Assigning network addresses to plant-level devices.
Cybersecurity and Firewall Management
- Purchase, install, configure, and commission Site OT Firewall and other security tools.
- Maintain Site OT Firewall.
- Determine site wireless network security standards for PCN.
- Determine standards and procedures for connection of third-party devices to PCN.
- Manage connection of third-party devices to PCN.
Device and Infrastructure Management
- Purchase, install, configure, and commission OT devices (PLCs, cards, wireless links, PoE lighting systems, etc.).
- Maintain networking infrastructure.
- Connection and modification of devices.
- Set site standards for server hardware and computer hardware.
- Plan and monitor backups (schedule test restores, monitor reports, inform of new servers and workstations).
- Maintain site OT.NET Design and Maintenance resources (users, computers, groups, permissions).
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have;
- Strong Technical and Commercial understanding of the mining industry and experience in a similar role.
- Tertiary Qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Software, IT or Communications or Significant OT experience and Electrical Trade.
- Experience in mining management maintenance systems, policies and procedures.
- Experience in industrial ethernet, fibre, wireless (802.11), and Wireless Mesh type communication networks, IT user security, accounts software’s, windows domain controllers and server operating.
- Experience in IT networks; including server/SAN infrastructure and cyber security practices.
- Experience in ESX vSphere clustered virtual environment (build and maintain virtual servers).
- Experience with open cut mining fleet management systems (i.e. Leica, Modular, Minestar, Wenco or GuardVant).
- Experience in database management (i.e. SQL).
