Job Description

The CHPP Project Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and commissioning of CHPP projects. This role ensures that all project activities are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards and Project Management Framework specifications. The Superintendent will coordinate with various stakeholders, including engineering teams, contractors, operational and corporate staff, to deliver successful project outcomes.

Reporting to the CHPP Manager, the CHPP Project Superintendent is a pivotal leadership position responsible for the successful delivery of CHPP projects at Hail Creek Open Cut.


In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Lead the development and implementation of various project plans, schedules, and budgets.

  • Manage TSF1 Reprocessing & Deconstruction Project from pre-feasibility study through to closure execution, whilst ensuring compliance to GCAA Project Management Framework.  

  • Ensuring effective communication across all project stakeholders.

  • Promote and enforce a zero-harm safety culture on site.

  • Lead and mentor your team to deliver best practice safety and operational results.

  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure project deliverables meet specified standards.

  • Oversee testing and commissioning activities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications.

  • Report regularly to management on project status, risks, and issues.

About you:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field

  • Extensive CHPP experience

  • Strong ability to lead and motivate teams, fostering a positive and productive work environment

  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
