Job Description

Reporting to the Environment & Community Superintendent, this role is responsible for supporting the operation to achieve and maintain positive community engagement and compliance with environmental obligations.

About the Role

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with external stakeholders, including government and the community

  • Support the implementation of HVO environmental management programs and plans, as contained in the EMS (including Air, Noise, Blasting, Waste, Water);

  • Develop and deliver environmental training packages

  • Coordinate environmental monitoring programmes and monitoring systems

  • Responsible for delivery of internal and external reporting obligations

  • Assist with audit programmes (internal and external) and undertake environmental inspections to verify environmental controls

Roster and Location

  • Permanent Part-Time - Up to 3 days/week, Monday to Friday roster

  • Based on site at HVO (off Lemington Road)

About You

  • To be successful in securing this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental science / natural resources

  • Demonstrated environment and community management experience within the mining sector

  • Proficiency in Geographic Information Systems

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to deliver often complex and technical environmental advice

  • A willingness to learn

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
