Mt Owen/Glendell Operations (MGO) is an open cut mining operation which utilises truck and excavator mining methods to produce thermal and semi-soft coking coal, which is predominantly exported for domestic power generation and use in steel production. We are located within the Hunter Coalfields at Hebden in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales.
An opportunity exists for a motivated CHPP Operator Maintainer at MGO with a Mechanical Trade, Electrical Trade, or Production Operator background. Reporting to the CHPP Shift Supervisor, you will follow rotating shifts on our Lifestyle Roster (4 / 5 / 5) and contribute to a team renowned for its positive culture, safety standards and performance results.
Your primary focus will be to operate and maintain CHPP equipment to the standard required to meet target outputs safely and effectively. Within your role you will be required to effectively identify and communicate any identified risks associated with health, safety and environmental impacts.
The requirements for success in this role include:

Formal Electrical or Mechanical Trade qualification (highly desirable).

Experience operating a Coal Handling Prep Plant (CHPP) including Scada systems (CITECT).

Previous experience in operating ROM loaders, stockpile dozers and haul trucks in a CHPP setting.

Motivated and positive attitude towards your work and helping contribute to a positive culture.

Strong communication skills and demonstrated reliability.

Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices with a high regard for your personal safety and the safety of your teammates.
