Job DescriptionWe’re seeking an experienced Senior Reliability Engineer to champion equipment performance and reliability across our fleet as part of our site engineering function.
Reporting directly to the Engineering Superintendent, this is a hands on technical, leadership role, responsible for improving reliability, availability, and cost outcomes across a high-production mining fleet.
The role
- Lead defect elimination and root cause analysis on trucks, excavators, and ancillary equipment
- Optimise maintenance and life-cycle strategies to lift availability and reduce cost.
- Apply data-driven analysis and condition monitoring to drive continuous improvement
- Ensure work is statutory compliant, aligned with SHMS and Recognised Standards; lead WRAC/RA and close actions.
- Develop and manage reliability programs (e.g. condition monitoring, oil analysis, vibration analysis).
- Partner with operations and maintenance teams to embed a reliability culture on site
- Provide day-to-day technical leadership to analysts/coordinators, vendors and OEMs; partner with Operations, Maintenance and Planning to embed a reliability culture.
About you

Mining Reliability Expertise – Extensive experience in coal/HME reliability & maintenance, with site-based delivery and measurable outcomes.

Safety & Compliance – strong literacy in CMSHA/CMSHR, SHMS, and Recognised Standards; proven capability in leading WRAC/RA processes and closing actions.

Reliability Methods – demonstrated success in RCA/defect elimination, RCM/FMEA, strategy optimisation, KPI governance, and downtime management.

Condition Monitoring – ability to set direction and translate data into tactics and engineered controls.

Structural & NDT Interface – experience engaging inspectors (e.g., BV) and prioritising structural repair programs.

Digital Systems – advanced user of SAP (or equivalent CMMS) with strong data analytics and reporting capability.

Leadership – proven track record leading reliability analysts, coordinators, vendors, and OEMs; skilled at cross-functional collaboration with Maintenance, Planning, and Operations.

Coding/data: Python/SQL/Power BI (DAX/Power Query) or similar digital-first mindset is desirable

Certs/quals: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering . Other disciplines considered with strong HME reliability background. Additional credentials such as CMRP/CRE, MBA or postgrad in reliability/maintenance, and RPEQ/NER/CPeng eligibility are desirable.
