We are seeking an experienced HSEC & Risk Advisor to join our Brisbane team and play a key role in strengthening our HSEC, risk and assurance practices across Glencore Technology’s projects and operations. Reporting to the Strategy and Innovation Director, you’ll work closely with leaders, employees, internal and external stakeholders to deliver targets of Glencore’s HSEC strategy, sustain a strong safety culture and execute assurance programs that monitor risks and controls. This role will be a fixed term position for 24 months.

You will be responsible for:

Support and maintain Glencore Technology’s HSEC Management Systems.
Monitor compliance with HSEC legislation, regulations and Glencore standards.
Advise on minimum HSEC requirements for role based training.
Provide practical HSEC advice and coaching to leaders, employees and contractors, promoting a proactive and positive safety culture.
Assist with incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions.
Conduct workplace inspections, safety observations, audits and risk assessments.
Monitor HSEC performance and prepare reports and insights for management.
Develop, maintain and improve HSEC & Risk documentation, including safety plans, risk bowties and Standard Operating Procedures.
Assist management with the development and implementation of HSEC programs across selected sites and project locations.
Coordinate the Critical Incident Management annual mock exercise and documentation.
Coordinate the periodic review of Enterprise & HSEC risk register, CCVs, bow ties and 1^st and 2^nd line assurance.

Key Requirements:

Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or higher qualification.
Strong risk management and assurance experience
An advantage if attained formal risk or audit qualifications such as RABQSA-AU or Exemplar Global
Demonstrated 5+ years experience in a health and safety role within mining, construction, heavy industry or a similarly regulated environment.
Direct mine site or operations experience an added advantage.
Strong understanding of work health and safety and environmental legislation, regulations and management systems.
Proven ability to build positive working relationships and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
Strong communication, facilitation and reporting skills.
A proactive approach to safety, risk management and procedural compliance.
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Passion for protecting the health, safety and wellbeing of others.
