We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team, delivering innovative solutions for pyrometallurgical and smelting projects. This role offers the opportunity to work across the full engineering lifecycle, from concept development through to detailed design, commissioning support, and site implementation to deliver high quality engineering solutions.  The Mechanical Engineer will report to the Principal Mechanical Engineer and will be engaged on a full-time basis.

 

You will be responsible for:

  • Deliver mechanical engineering and design solutions for pyrometallurgical and metallurgical process plants.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, design documentation, drawings, and equipment data sheets.
  • Participate in equipment selection, vendor evaluations, design reviews, and technical discussions.
  • Conduct engineering assessments and develop practical solutions that improve safety, reliability, maintainability, and constructability.
  • Support project execution, commissioning, troubleshooting, inspections, and plant improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including process, structural, piping, electrical, and project engineers.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3–5 years of demonstrated mechanical design experience within pyrometallurgical engineering.
  • Practical understanding of mechanical equipment used in high-temperature processing plants, including furnaces, material handling systems, process equipment and associated plant infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to safely perform work in industrial and smelter environments while complying with all site health and safety requirements.
  • Proven ability to deliver engineering designs with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Willingness and availability to travel for site inspections, commissioning, and project support as required.
