Glencore is proud to support Year 12 students from the Northwest Queensland region through our Student Excellence Scholarships – helping local students pursue university education and take the next step towards their future careers.

 

What’s on offer?

• Four (4) scholarships, each valued at $5,000, awarded for one (1) academic year to students commencing full-time university studies in 2027.
• Scholarships are open to students pursuing all fields of study, with at least two scholarships reserved for students undertaking mining-related disciplines.
• Successful scholars will also be invited to participate in Glencore’s paid summer Vacation Program, providing the opportunity to gain practical workplace experience, build professional networks and learn more about careers within our Mount Isa operations.

 

We’re looking for students who:

• Are currently completing Year 12 and intend to commence full-time university studies in 2027.
• Demonstrate strong academic achievement and a commitment to their studies.
• Are positive role models who actively contribute to their school or local community.
• Have the support and recommendation of their school principal.
• Are willing to represent Glencore as a scholarship ambassador throughout their university studies.
• Are available to participate in vacation work with Glencore during the summer university break.
