The role in a nutshell

 

As part of the Supply Chain Canada team, you will play a key role in managing and optimizing relationships with contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors across operations in North America. This position is responsible for supporting the full contract lifecycle, ensuring compliance with company standards and contractual obligations, and promoting effective collaboration between internal stakeholders and external partners.

Working closely with Contractor Owners, Category Leads, Buyers, and operational teams, the selected candidate will help improve safe, efficient, and effective contractor management practices while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and operational objectives.

 

More specifically, you will be expected to:

  • Administer contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders throughout the contract lifecycle
  • Monitor contractor performance, deliverables, timelines, and budget compliance
  • Ensure contracts and related activities comply with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations
  • Act as a key point of contact for contractors regarding commercial matters and scope changes
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract documentation, records, and correspondence
  • Collaborate with operational, procurement, finance, legal, and supply chain teams to support contract execution
  • Support commercial reviews, contract negotiations, and dispute resolution activities
  • Track contractor certifications, insurance, and compliance documentation
  • Coordinate regular contractor performance and KPI review meetings with stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to improve contractor management processes and operational efficiency through to contract closeout, conducting post-mortem reviews when necessary
  • Support audits, reporting activities, and governance initiatives related to contractor management
  • Build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to support operational efficiency

Do you possess the qualifications required?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Construction Management, or a related field;
  • 5-7 years of experience in contract administration, procurement, contractor management, or a related field;
  • General knowledge of contract law, procurement procedures, and construction, engineering, project management (if applicable);
  • Oversee, manage, and guide significant change resulting from the implementation of new solutions, processes and approaches to Contractor Management;
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-stakes work environment;
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work across all levels of an organization;
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail;
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams;
  • Comfortable navigating change and adapting to evolving operational needs;
  • Experience working with ERP or procurement systems such as SAP or Coupa is considered an asset;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
  • A professional, solutions-oriented approach with a deep commitment to integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

 

Travel: Occasional travel within North America may be required, particularly to the Raglan Mine and other Canadian Glencore sites.

Language: Working proficiency in French (verbal and written) is highly beneficial. The knowledge of English is require to communicate with stakeholders located outside Quebec.

Location: Regional office in Laval 5 days a week.
