The role in a nutshell

In this position, you will manage a varied portfolio of recruitment mandates covering a broad spectrum of positions, from general corporate functions to highly specialized technical and operational roles.

Working closely with HR Business Partners, hiring managers and external partners, you will act as a trusted recruitment partner throughout the hiring process. You will bring your skills, experience and judgement to each mandate, ensuring an effective recruitment strategy, thorough candidate assessment and a positive experience for both candidates and hiring managers.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced recruitment professional who can begin contributing immediately, build effective working relationships and navigate multiple stakeholders and changing priorities with confidence. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, brings ideas and creativity to recruitment, and is motivated to continuously improve how we attract, assess and engage talent.

More specifically, you will:

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment activities across a diverse portfolio of positions and seniority levels, from interns and early-career professionals to senior managers, from job requisition creation through to candidate offer presentation;
  • Partner with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to understand workforce requirements, define hiring profiles and develop effective recruitment strategies;
  • Recruit for a diverse range of technical, operational, professional and administrative positions within the NickelZinc regional group;
  • Strategically source and engage candidates through multiple channels, including direct search, networking, job boards, agencies, universities and other talent pipelines;
  • Conduct candidate interviews and assessments, bringing recruitment skills and meaningful insight to hiring decisions and supporting hiring managers throughout the selection process;
  • Build strong relationships with hiring managers, candidates and external recruitment partners, ensuring effective communication and follow-through;
  • Ensure recruitment data, processes and documentation meet established standards and contribute to the monitoring of key recruitment indicators;
  • Contribute to employer branding, talent acquisition projects and continuous improvement initiatives, bringing new ideas and approaches where they can add value.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or another related field; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered;
  • Minimum of 8 years of hands-on talent acquisition experience, in a complex environment and supporting a broad range of technical, professional and operational roles;
  • Solid understanding of full-cycle recruitment, with the ability to manage mandates with minimal supervision from intake through to offer;
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly understand business and recruitment needs, establish credibility with stakeholders and manage mandates with minimal direction;
  • Strong candidate assessment and interviewing skills, with the ability to assess candidates beyond resume screening to uncover capabilities, motivations and potential, and provide hiring managers with meaningful insight and recommendations;
  • A consultative and collaborative approach, with the confidence to advise and constructively question hiring managers when appropriate;
  • Highly organized, diligent and accountable, with meticulous attention to detail and a genuine pride in delivering high-quality work and following through on commitments;
  • Resourceful and versatile, with a genuine interest in creating engaging recruitment experiences and continuously improving how recruitment is delivered;
  • Comfortable working with minimal supervision, managing multiple priorities and navigating changing business requirements;
  • Effective communication skills, relationship-building and negotiation, with a practical, solutions-oriented approach;
  • Proficiency with common applications, including Microsoft Office, Applicant Tracking Systems (Workday), DocuSign and LinkedIn.
  • A professional designation will be highly regarded.
