In this role you will be responsible for:

• Managing the instrumentation department
• Coordinate and manage continuous improvement projects
• Fault finding on Siemens 7/ Mitsubishi; AS-I and Profibus
• Ensuring asset care and maintenance of relevant instrumentation and process control equipment on the Eastern Chrome Mines
• Systems Standardization and audits
• Compiles accurate system reports and action plans for review
• Compiles an annual budget for the instrumentation department per mine
• Facilitates training of Instrumentation Department personnel (i.e. Technicians, Mechanicians, Learner Mechanicians)
• Compliance with the company’s HSEC system is essential, ensuring implementation of management decision, legal requirements and company standards/policies

About you:

• National diploma (NQF 6) or B-Tech Degree or BSc Degree in Engineering
• Registration with the Engineering Council of South African will be advantageous
• At least 5 years’ experience in a Metallurgical Plant of which 2 years must be in a PGM concentrator at middle management level
• Networks (AS-I; Profibus; Ethernet; Profinet; CANBus) Proven experience, knowledge and understanding
• VSD knowledge and understanding
• SIMOCODE knowledge and understanding
• Programming (Siemens S7/PCS7/ASI/Mitsubishi) proven experience, knowledge and understanding
• SCADA (PCS7/PCS7/ADROIT) knowledge and understanding
