In this role you will be responsible for:

• Assist the business to lead and manage the engineering compliance to SafeWork and legal compliance.
• Assist with the implementation of Glencore standards.
• Drive standardization of standards across Boshoek Smelter.
• Provide oversight to ensure all TMM’s onsite complies with minimum requirements.
• Provide specialist technical advice on engineering compliance risks and mitigation measures
• Support shutdown and maintenance teams to ensure compliance with safework planning.
• Develop compliance dashboards, reports and risk trend analyses for management review.
• Drive a strong engineering compliance culture through coaching, training and continuous improvement initiatives

 

About you:

• BTech / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in heavy industry, manufacturing, mining or smelting engineering environments
• Proven experience in engineering compliance, risk management, statutory governance and standards assurance
• Strong understanding of Fatal Hazard Protocols, engineering critical controls and HSEC systems
• Experience in managing contractor and business partner compliance
• Strong knowledge of statutory engineering requirements and legal governance
• GCC Factories will be highly advantageous
• Experience with SAP PM / SAP PAM
• Strong project management, audit and stakeholder management capability
• Excellent leadership, communication and influencing skills
• Formal leadership or compliance training will be advantageous
