About the role:
Reporting to the Drill and Blast Engineer, Mine Engineering, the Drill and Blast Technician is responsible for: designing blast patterns, generating loading instructions, and determining blast timing in a safe, environmentally responsible, and efficient manner. The position follows a 4x4 day shift schedule.
To be successful, we require someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, who works well as an individual and as a team player. This person has strong analytical, logistical, and problem-solving skills, and can prioritize demands in a fast-paced environment.

In this role you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Collaborate closely with mine operations, engineering, survey, and geology teams to efficiently design and blast patterns
- Generate loading instructions, determine optimal blast timing to maximize coal recovery and waste rock fragmentation
- Support on site nitrate management initiatives
- Support and implement standard methodologies related to drilling and blasting
Requirements:
- Basic digital literacy and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite®
- Exposure to the DABS System is an asset
- Exposure to mine design software, particularly MinePlan3D is an asset
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
